What is Wu-long tea?

Wu-Long tea comes from the Camilla Sinensis tea bush. Now, how those tea leaves from the Camilla Sinensis end up as different kinds of teas depends on what happens to the leaves after they have been picked off the tea bush.

Wu-long is another name for the Oolong tea. This tea is semi-fermented and is known for its intense and flower like qualities. This tea produces brew colors that range from bright green and slightly fermented to a dark-leafed and hearty color.

The wu-long tea's unique drying process creates a tea that has many metabolic stimulating properties and can be used for weight management in addition to a well balanced diet.

Also, wu long tea has unique names such as Hairy Crab Wu-long tea. Another well-known one is the Orchid Wu-Long.

This tea has similar qualities to green tea. This tea has been reported to be more effective than green tea when it comes to enhancing one's metabolism and loosing weight.

According to a medical study that was done in 2003, wu-long tea increases your energy expenditure by 10%. (That's 6% more than green tea!) When 6% more could signify losing a few more pounds over a few weeks, it gets you thinking quite a bit, doesn't it?

Not only does this tea help burn more fat, but it also contains half the amount of caffeine that green tea contains. (Talk about benefits!)

Also, this tea has a similar quality to green tea, which is that it contains the same cancer killing compound that is found in green tea. However, it contains half less of this cancer killing compound than green tea.

So if you want to lessen your intake of caffeine, enhance your metabolism, manage your weight, and still be able to absorb a cancer killing compound, the wu-long tea is the way to go!

Enjoy!!
