Unbleached tea bags. Do they actually make those?
Unbleached tea bags, is there really such a thing? C'mon, who would put bleach in tea bags?
Well, I have startling news for you...
I was walking through the super market the other day looking through the aisle that contained tea to see what tea was available when three words caught my attention. I stared in awe and my jaw literally dropped open.
On a canister of tea, those three words read, "unbleached tea bags."
Wait a second, like there is such a thing as bleached tea bags? What? No!!! I must have misread the label, you might think. I can assure you that I didn't. I re-read that label several times.
Quickly, I looked at a few other canisters and saw the same words. However, some of those canisters didn't say, "unbleached tea bags."
So what did it mean?
Does that mean that the tea canisters that don't say, "unbleached tea bags." have bleached tea bags?
Well, if some tea companies are bothering themselves with writing that their tea bags don't have bleach, those who aren't saying it must have bleach in their tea bags. Right?
Personally, I can only tell you that I am not partial to drinking bleach with my tea. What about you?
I say, let's stick to the healthy option and buy tea that doesn't have bleach in its tea bags. What do you say?
Otherwise, I think that you and I are pretty much wasting our time thinking about all the benefits that this wonderful tea will bring to us when we're absorbing bleach with our tea.
I am not a scientist and haven't done tests to find out whether or not the bleach might cancel most of the tea's medicinal and health benefits, but just about everyone knows that drinking bleach is bad for you.
Let's not tempt the devil with that one and stick with more natural tea bags. At least, I will! But will you?
