Hot chocolate & more chocolaty drinks!

Hot chocolate is easily made from your home. It can taste great and not so great. It all depends on the recipe that you use!

Use these recipes and find the one that you like best. The recipes provided here can be drunk hot or cold, once again, it's whichever you like best. I do urge you to try to drink it both ways, you can't say that you don't like something unless you've tried it!

Do you want to try a different chocolaty drink? Skip the next four recipes and take a look at a chocolate martini, a white chocolate martini, a raspberry white chocolate martini, or a chocolate milkshake. You're bound to find a new favorite, or a second favorite.

And a chocolate milkshake for the kids as a treat? Yup, that qualifies and you get several happy grins in return. (Caution: Your husband might want one too.)

Chocolate milkshake recipe.
(Serves 1.)

Ingredients:

3 large scoops premium chocolate ice cream, softened at room temperature for 10-15 minutes.
1/2 – 1 cup of cold whole milk, depending on consistency preferences.
2-4 tablespoons of chocolate syrup, tailor to taste.
    Whipped cream. (Optional.)
    Maraschino cherry. (Optional.)
    Straw.

Preparation:
1. Place the ingredients in a blender, starting with the ice cream, then 1/2 cup of milk and finishing with 2 tablespoons of syrup. (Adding syrup last helps insure that it won’t sink to the bottom of the blender without being mixed in.)
2. Pulse a few times, enough to get the ice cream and milk to start mixing.
3. Turn the blender to lowest setting, and mix until smooth.
4. Check consistency and flavor. If the shake is too thick to sip through a straw, add milk, 1 tablespoon at a time, until you reach desired consistency. If the flavor is too subtle, gradually add syrup to taste.
5. Once desired consistency and flavor is reached, pour into glass.
6. Garnish with whipped cream and cherry and add a straw.
